Stonyfield's Na-"MOO"-ste Contest!

A while ago, I received an email from Stephanie at Stonyfield yogurt letting me know about the awesome Stonyfield yogurt blogger contest they had going on. Just by entering, I have the chance to win a trip to Kripalu! I've been wanting to check this place out for a while now, and this may be my perfect opportunity. Cross your fingers!

All they wanted to know is how I say "Ohm!" I had the option to:
  • share an original story about why I need to say "ohm"
  • post a photo of me doing yoga in a toga
  • share a recipe I created using Oikos yogurt as an ingredient
So, I COULD tell you all why I need to say ohm, but I try not to air all my personal stuff on le blog. So that option was out. I considered doing yoga in a toga, but decided that might not be pretty. I tested a couple recipes which came out worse than horrible. In fact, I don't even know what I was thinking (pumpkin yogurt frozen pops? What's wrong with me? P.S. They were gross.)

I decided Stonyfield Greek yogurt is best in its pure form. In fact, on my grocery store tour today, I touted the benefits of Greek yogurt to the tour goers!

After the tour, I used one of my coupons received from Kristina at Stonyfield and bought some Greek Vanilla. Here's my simple, yet delicious recipe I made and ate after my exercise session today:

"Thoughts of Summer Past" Parfait

6 ounces of any Stonyfield Greek yogurt
1/2 cup pomegranate arils
1/4 cup blueberries
1 Tbsp of your favorite granola (I used Stark Sisters granola)

Directions. Layer 2 ounces of yogurt in the bottom of a large mason jar. Sprinkle 1/4 cup pomegranate arils. Add 2 more ounces of yogurt, then 1/4 cup blueberries, yogurt, pomegranates, and finally, the granola. Now, you can layer any way you want. There are no hard and fast rules!

I even added a bit of fancy candied Meyer lemon rinds I made!

I named this recipe "Thoughts of Summer Past" because I had froze some local blueberries back in July that I used, and some local granola I had bought this summer. It was the PERFECT post-exercise snack this evening!

Funny story: For some weird reason, I find it fun to eat and drink out of wide mouth Mason jars. It feels rustic. Don't ask. So I had a family member (who shall remain nameless) over for dinner a couple weeks ago, and I gave them a Mason jar with drink in it.

She asked me, "why are we drinking out of jelly jars?" Good question. :-)

Entries are going to be posted on the Oikos Facebook fan page. You all should check it out.

So, in conclusion, Tim and I REALLY want to win this amazing prize, and although it's a random draw, I am asking you to cross your fingers and think good NaMooSte vibes so I may win! We decided we were going to get ready, just in case we win, so we headed out to the woods and practiced enjoying the outdoors. Enjoy.
